Fat, So Chic!

The thing I love about fashion is the extent to which it is art.

Today’s Delights

A colorful array of store catalogues came in the mail today: Lane Bryant, Neiman Marcus,  J.Jill and Roamans. I could easily find something to buy in any of them. Here are my highlights.

Lane Bryant was a pleasant surprise. I think they are getting more creative and using better/more interesting fabrics. I am also optimistic about their new Icon line, which is suppose to reflect the catwalks. I haven’t tried on these clothes, but they are tempting! I know the harem pants are a daring choice, but who cares, they look fun (and comfy) and they are on sale! Own it!

Neiman Marcus offered classic  pieces, nothing really exciting, and at that price, ill wait till my favorites go on sale (this is a constant theme of my shopping habits). I am intrigued by the new bohochic kid on the plus size block: Johnny Was. I love their use of lovely patterned silks and cottons. Most of their blouses offer my favorite cut–the deep V neck. The Deep V is so flattering for women of size who have a nice decolletage. I prefer to showing some skin to covering myself up. In my opinon, showing skin by great cuts of fabric is way more flattering than the omnipresent potato sack of plus size offerings.

J.Jill’s clothes remind me of very calm women doing yoga in the pacific northwest. The shapes, the hues and the styles are subtle and whispery, like foggy, misty weather. So, I have never really found anything that wowed me. Though I keep looking because I think that it could be a g0-to place for staples like silk tanks or linen tunics. But, today, I was wowed! I really love this buttery, silvery, chic jacket and hope that it will be in my size when it goes on sale!

Roamans is my go to place for winter coats and novelty tops. Plus, it has great staples and clearance at rock-bottom price-points. And, they routinely offer generous coupons and sales. Today, I saw two charming swimsuits. As an avid swimmer who spends most of summer at the pool, whenever possible, I hope to make these two numbers part of my repertoire, gorgeous straw hat included!
